Live with the Fab Four — Four Photographers, Four Perspectives & Absolutely Zero Chance of Everyone Agreeing

It is not often that you get four world-class photographers on one live stream. But that is exactly what we have here: Flash Masters Ambassadors Amber Henry, Arno de Bruijn, Ben Connolly and Chris Benavides joining us all the way from the US, Australia, and Europe for one of the most fun and educational streams we have ever hosted.

Together the Fab Four run their own multi-day workshop in Las Vegas — and in this stream they share a huge amount about how they think, how they work, and how their very different styles and approaches to flash photography complement and challenge each other.

We asked the Flash Masters community to submit their questions in advance — and the results were brilliant. From how they each overcame their fear of flash at the start of their careers, to how they approach posing versus movement, to what they look for when they walk into a room — four incredible perspectives, not always in agreement, and all of it absolutely worth hearing.

The top 5 things you will learn by watching this stream:

  1. How four world-class photographers each overcame their fear of flash. Amber, Ben, Arno, and Chris all share their very different journeys to becoming confident with off-camera flash including some wonderfully honest stories about where it all started.
  2. How to develop your own style rather than copying someone else's. The Fab Four talk candidly about the photographers who inspired them, how they absorbed those influences, and how they eventually found their own voice - a conversation that is genuinely invaluable for photographers at any stage.
  3. Four completely different perspectives on posing and movement. Two posers, two non-posers and a brilliant discussion about when each approach serves the image, and when it doesn't.
  4. What to look for when you walk into a room. Each photographer shares how they read a space the light, the opportunities, the potential and how that shapes the images they go after.
  5. Why there is no substitute for being in a room with other photographers. This stream is a love letter to in-person education, and the Fab Four make a genuinely compelling case for why shooting alongside others changes your work in ways that no online course ever can.

Neil Redfern

I am a off camera flash obsessive wedding photographer based in the sunny North West of England. I shot my first wedding in 2006 and since then I have shot around 500 weddings across the UK and overseas. For the past 10 years I have also been running wedding photography workshops and in 2020 I set up my Patreon, which has now grown to a community of 250 photographers all over the world. I also love to make videos for my YouTube channel, which again is all focussed on wedding photography education and ‘How I Shot This’ off camera flash videos. I am also very proud to be an Ambassador for MagMod, Pic-Time and Studio Ninja.Myself and Helen Williams set up Flash Masters in September 2022 and I am so incredibly proud of what Flash Masters will become. A huge thank you to all of our Ambassadors, Sponsors and every single member of the community for helping to make this a reality. I am so excited to see where this journey takes us all!
