Epic portraits with the Halo Pack with Dru Dodd
In this tutorial, which includes a behind the scenes live shoot, UK based wedding photographer Dru Dodd shares how he uses his Halo Pack to create truly stunning and unique images. Dru's Halo Pack images have won him a number of awards and we are truly grateful to Dru for showing us behind the curtain on how he uses off-camera flash to create this show-stopping photographs.
Learn how to use Dru Dodd's Halo Pack to create truly spectacular images
In this tutorial we are joined by award winning UK based wedding photographer, Dru Dodd. Dru is a true photography innovator and as well as capturing beautiful real moments with authenticity on a wedding day, Dru is renowned for creating unique images which are completely different to anything we have seen before.
A couple of years ago Dru developed his own 'Halo Pack' which consists of 4 copper rings, each of different lengths, all hand crafted by Dru himself. In this tutorial, Dru very kindly shares exactly how he uses the pack to create off-camera flash portraits which are completely unique. Not only does Dru talk us through the equipment you will need and all of his camera settings, but he also takes us behind the scenes on a live shoot where you can see Dru creating his epic images with a real couple.
When you see the images which Dru creates using the Halo Pack It isn't hard to see why these images have picked up both silver and gold Flash Masters awards!

Dru Dodd
I'm Dru, a wedding and commercial photographer based in Northumberland, England. I started out taking landscapes and images of the night sky during my PhD in Molecular Genetics and kind of fell into photographing weddings. As a result I love putting my couples in landscapes and taking images at night, using flash and pushing my cameras and flashes to their limits. I started off with Olymus 4/3rds, then went to Canon full frame and now shoot Sony mirrorless. I use Godox speedlites and strobes.
